Welcome to the "How to Make Common Core Fun" page! With Rhode Island Schools moving toward using the Common Core for curriculum planning, there is lots of buzz around its pro's and con's. As a graduate student working to become a teacher in the (hopefully!) near future, I have the unique perspective of going into the field prepared to take on this new set up. Veteran teachers do not have the same luxury; many are left to adjust their whole teaching lens they have been viewing their classroom through for decades. So, how can we come together to make this process just a little less painful? My idea is to introduce some fun, creative ideas for teachers to use in their classrooms. There will be a series of ideas posted that will each align with at least one Common Core Standard. The goal is to make learning FUN while still meeting the standards. Hope this helps to get everyone's creativity flowing! Check out the Common Core Standards link to familiarize yourself before we get started.
Happy Planning!!!
